FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
• $200/hr for Tutoring (academic & creative writing, literary analysis, storytelling) • $300/hr for High School & College Application Essays & Interview Prep Limited-Time Discount: New students receive 50% off their first session. Offer valid through February 28, 2025. Cancellation Policy: Sessions canceled within 24 hours or no-shows will be charged in full.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first session is focused on assessment and making sure the client is comfortable working with me. I have extensive experience with shy students who have had bad experiences with teachers, and I ensure a supportive, engaging environment. My Teaching Philosophy: Learning should be fun, above all. If a client isn’t enjoying the process, they aren’t optimizing their learning. My goal is to make writing and critical thinking engaging, confidence-building, and rewarding.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my MFA in Fiction from Boston University. In addition to teaching at MIT, my professional experience includes visiting professorships at UNC Charlotte and Boston College, and a distinguished writer-in-residency at Kingston University (London). I have a strong publication record, including award-winning short stories and critically-acclaimed novels with Simon & Schuster and Random House. I've been a culture essayist for Vanity Fair since 2014, writing about art, film, travel, and food.
