FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $25/hour for line editing and $35/hour for developmental editing. The equation I use to come to my bid price is 2,000 words per hour. I then round down to an even number. My prices are low because I love what I do.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When a client chooses me as their editor, I then connect with them through my business email, or if they prefer, by phone. Together, we establish their timelines and exactly what they want, need and expect from me, and we go from there.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've held positions ranging from Proofreader to Proofing Manager to Senior Copy Editor within the corporate environment for the past 15 years. I've managed up to 5 people, I've written various style guides and editing manuals, and I've coached junior editors.
