Introduction

I absolutely love teaching and helping people to master the guitar, bass, and music in general. I enjoy adapting to each person's unique learning style so that I can help them reach their goals and also enjoy the process as much as possible. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2016 with a dual degree in Performance, Songwriting and Music Production. In addition, I was awarded the Latin American scholarship after my audition to get into Berklee. Prior to my music studies, I earned a degree in Business back home in Lima University in Lima-Peru. I have been playing guitar for over 20 years and teaching private lessons for about 14 years now. When it comes to guitar lessons, the styles I focus on are classical, rock, blues, pop, jazz, folk and fusion. I also teach songwriting, production and mixing. I am currently teaching at a music school called "Musicians' Playground" and playing live with my band "Nodus," along with assisting for other people's projects.

Having Jaime as my guitar teacher for nearly a year has been a transformative experience for me. After assessing my level of playing the first time we met, Jaime built a customized learning roadmap for me which constists of technical training, theory and song learning. 1. On technical training, the practice routine Jaime developed for me is both systematic and comprehensive. By working on those exercises, I observed significant improvement in my finger dexterity and timing. In addition, there are times when I struggled to make improvement. Jaime helped me identified the weakness or bottleneck in my playing, and incorporated customized exercise in my practice routine to help me address those issues. 2. Before meeting Jaime, ear training was a skill that I largely overlooked. Jaime’s approach to song transcription has significantly improved my ability to discern finer details in music. It not only helps me better develop my ear to steer my playing, but also deepened my understanding and appreciation of my favorite guitar music. 3. On song learning, Jaime's selection of music differs from typical repertoire found in conventional guitar lessons, but perfectly suits my skill level and also my musical taste. It has been an absoluate enjoyment to learn these songs, such as , , by Joe Satriani and by Blues Saraceno. Last but not least, Jaime continously provides valuable feedback and maintains high standards, ensuring that all progress made is genuine. Jaime is a great guitar teacher. I had been self-taught for 15+ years and we started with breaking down bad habits to have a good foundation to build from. Lessons were organized and had clear goals in mind while maintaining a larger goal (playing a whole song) at the same time. Jaime was very flexible and willing to work with my schedule to make the lessons work for me and he was always very responsive in between lessons when I had questions. I had to cut my lessons short because I just didn't have the time to commit to playing enough, but I will be resuming my lessons with Jaime in the future. I would absolutely recommend him anyone looking to learn and improve their playing.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Over Skype: - 60 min = 70$ - 45 min = 55$ - 30 min = 40$ I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Same day cancellations are billable.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My first step is to talk to the student, to see what they expect from the lessons and also see them play, in case they have some experience with the instrument. After I realize the level the student is in, we can start moving forward and I we can develop a specific plan, according to their goals and taste in music. I always encourage all my students to contact me in between lessons in case they have any questions, also to send me videos of their progress so I can give them feedback.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
- I had classic guitar training since a young age - I went to Berklee College of Music for Performance also Contemporary Writing and Music Production.
