This was a great furniture buying experience from start to finish. I was looking for a coffee table for my apartment, and Dylan was involved and engaged in the whole process, from brainstorming design ideas to the actual building. After telling him some initial ideas of what I was looking for, we hopped on a call where he shared his computer screen and walked me through a few different design ideas and modifications. The creativity was truly impressive! He also walked me through the pros and cons of different woods, all while keeping my budget in mind. The final piece is beautiful. Very sturdy and well built. Exactly like the design he showed me. And the cherry wood is darkening over time just as he said! I think I'll have this table for a long time. Highly recommend Turkey Tail for your next custom furniture need

Dylan possesses a rare combination of artistic vision, exquisite craftsmanship and professionalism. He helped fine tune my scattered vision and made it into a reality, incorporating an old, but sentimental, piece of granite into a gorgeous side table. He provided background on furniture styles, took notes on the variety of inspiration photos I provided, and considered the existing aesthetic details of my home when mocking up the design. I appreciated learning about the variety of wood type options (and transparency on their pricing) and Dylans knowledge around finish options.I love his final design, and appreciate how it seamlessly connects with the rest of my living room from afar yet up close cant help but admire the craftsmanship, coloring, and natural qualities of the wood. The coffee table is a special piece I intend to have for my lifetime!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Products on my website are priced according to dimensions and wood species. If you are interested in a custom or semi-custom design, we provide a formal estimate for all projects.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When designing an entirely new piece, there are a few key steps: 1. Initial consultation: A chance to learn what your aesthetic and functional desires are for the piece(s) you want created. 2. Concept: We collaboratively brainstorm existing designs to learn what you like, and what you don't like in a piece of furniture. 3. Estimate: We provide a free estimate that captures your requirements for the piece, and makes sure you are happy with the price. We are happy to modify the design as needed to accomplish your budgetary needs. 4. Design: We produce sketches, renderings, and high fidelity designs to make sure you feel comfortable and excited about what we are designing. 5. Build: We build the piece, and provide regular updates so that you understand that you are an important collaborator in the process! 6. Delivery: We coordinate directly with you to find a time to deliver and install your new furniture.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have done formal education in the Fine Furniture Making Intensive at the North Bennett Street School in Boston, which included gaining proficiency in furniture design and construction utilizing traditional methods.
