Welcome to Healing Hands Bodywork where your individuality is valued. My mission is to listen deeply, hold space, and work with the "whole you" to deliver an experience of profound relaxation whereby you can restore balance and begin to improve your overall sense of well being and happiness. For those seeking relief from pain, such relief it is hoped comes from working with the "whole". Much of my training is in Kahuna bodywork, an ancient and exceptionally powerful form of touch. I am dedicated to my work and I try to give 110% to each client. As such my schedule is paced, never overbooked, and never rush anyone that comes to me for relaxation. I believe that a good therapist is not just good with their hands, but also with their ability to listen and to understand and appreciate the differences of each client. Every person has a story and their bodies help complete the narrative. I like to think I have an intuitive sense and try to tailor and deliver each treatment to the wants and needs of the client. My Philosophy I am committed to making a profound difference in the people I work with by creating a MOMENT IN TIME of calm and peace - in which to restore balance & promote the healing and awakening of Mind, Body, and Soul. Everything is connected. Mental, physical, and emotional stress create a toxic environment in which one's well-being is greatly compromised. Making the choice to embark on a healing journey from the inside out is vital to living a full and happy life. Aloha I am gratified by the positive feelings and feedback that come from connecting with people and helping them in some small or meaningful way. I enjoy helping people feel better in their body (mind and soul). Physical and emotional pain can limit how we move about in the world and limit what we choose to do with our lives. Restoring a sense of balance can increase people's confidence in themselves and modify their outlook. Creating a smile and restoring a sense of calm in someone is very rewarding.

I highly recommend Healing Hands. I've had a number of massages by female therapists, and to be honest I was a bit reluctant to use a male therapist. Erik came highly recommended so I decided to try Healing Hands. Erik put me at ease right away and was very professional and discreet throughout the session. It was by far the best massage I have ever had. He used the perfect combination of techniques to melt away my stress and work out the knots in my neck and lower back flowing, relaxing and perfectly placed pressure, light stretching in just the right spots, moist heat and a calming environment. Ive had massages at some of the best spas in the area and I think Erik is a much better option. He is more affordable and better than the spa therapists I have gone to. I wont go to anyone else now. I just went over the weekend and would love to go back again today!

We went to healing hands to celebrate my husband's 50th Birthday. My goal was to learn how to give a massage and for my husband to learn how to give a massage(I'm no fool). Edward Did an amazing job! It was awkward at first - my husband is pretty conservative! Edward was patient and made it very easy to learn. We learned by doing, it was hands on teaching and learning. Time was devoted to instruction and to giving/receiving a real massage. Edward is more than qualified, he is passionate about massage and wellness and it shines through in his approach. The money we spent on private institutions will now be saved at home when we can give our own massages. Although I want to go to Edward b/c he was so good! I will tell my friends and family to go to Edward which is the best compliment!

To say I had a lot going on in my life at the time I had my first session with Edward is an understatement. I was searching for a modality that combined energy healing with touch/massage as an adjunct to my long ongoing medical treatment. My tedious internet search ended when I came upon Edward at Healing Hands in Needham. As a woman consulting a man to massage and help me heal my failing, ailing body you can imagine my trepidation. I was going only on my own intuition when I decided to give Edward a chance. I am so glad that I did. On my first visit to Edward he did not seem, to me, to be put off by my physical symptoms and responded to me as if everything was normal. He was patient and understanding. I remember his presence was very calm and grounding. He explained the session thoroughly then proceeded with my first Lomi Lomi experience that was deeply moving, beautiful and transforming. It is forever permanently embedded in my mind. I left with an overwhelming sense of calm and peacefulness. I took a chance on someone new and it turned out to be one of the greatest therapeutic experiences I have ever had. Edward has helped me maintain a sense of calmness and balance during a very turbulent and stressful time in my life. He has provided a place for me to center myself to open the pathways for healing within my body and mind. To relax and safely let go of everything that takes me down in this world. Edward offers a modest but beautiful space that for me has become a sanctuary of safety, peace and tranquility. Aside from the uniqueness of the Lomi Lomi process, I think Edward is unique in the way he goes about doing everything he does. It isn't so much what he does but HOW he does what he does that distinguishes him from other massage therapists. From his choice of words when he greets you to his extraordinary demeanor that is always very professional but with kindness, gentility and elegance. I sense his great awareness and respect for the fragility of our humanness that so many of us never notice or acknowledge at all. I find him to be an excellent listener as I have had a hard time expressing myself at times. I hope what I have said here is helpful. Certainly not everything is for everyone, however, in my opinion the best way to decide if what Edward has to offer is what you would like, or need, it would be to suggest that you read his website in its entirety. I don't think anyone could say it better than he already has. I would encourage anyone who has read his words and found that they resonate even in the slightest bit to give Edward a call. A massage is a very personal experience. One can never really know unless you experience it for yourself. I can vouch for Edward's integrity and professionalism. I've tried to articulate that here. Lastly, I am grateful that people like Edward exist in this world. I think Edward is exceptional at what he does. In my opinion he is a natural healer. I find his energy to be powerfully light, pure, uplifting and above all else healing.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Don't make your selection of therapist by price. That is the single best piece of advice I can offer. That said, I offer discounts to both new and ongoing clients. Thank you for your consideration.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try to learn what I can from clients, to the extent they will share; their goals, their needs. What they look for in a great massage, as well as what they don't like. New clients are requested to complete a client intake form. From this we learn about restrictions, contraindications, etc. As well, I will inquire as to what has been maybe missing from their prior therapist work or what they enjoyed best - in other words what would be the ideal experience for them. The first treatment is usually a learning experience for me and for the client. It can take a couple of sessions with a client to really develop a connection and for this reason it is a good idea to try and find a therapist you like and have confidence and trust - and make bodywork part of a wellness regimen, not simply a once a year "treat".
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Training in such a style takes years of dedication. It is not about doing one or two courses and then becoming a Kahuna Bodywork practitioner. One needs to find that space, awareness and wisdom within our own selves first before we are able to perform and provide the deeper healing space for others. Our training is mostly non-verbal, and certainly very physical (it has been compared to a martial art), giving us increasing access to the wisdom held in our bodies so that we can then learn to perform this wisdom on another I have trained under the guidance of renowned teacher and mentor Robert Gantke, in a direct student lineage of Kahu Abraham Kawaii and then with renowned Hawaiian spiritual leader and Kahuna bodywork expert, Uwe Schorb. My training has been a process of many deep transformations and experiences throughout the years of many workshops and student clinics. Each one has taught me new things about myself, and new ways of looking at the world. As a base, my core training comes from the prestigious Bancroft School.
