FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I think it is important for a student and teacher to meet in person in order to decide if it will be a good fit. Therefore, I give a first 20-30min sample lesson/interview free of charge. After that, I offer 30, 45, and 60min lessons at a rate of $60 per hour. Students pay for their lessons monthly.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
All private voice instruction should be tailored to the individual student. No two voices are exactly alike! Therefore, my process with a new student is to asses their level, specific needs and goals, and create exercises and assign repertoire that fits within that framework. Singers are athletes...we are training the body and the mind through incremental practice in order to build the muscle memory for solid singing technique. A normal lesson will include some time spent on warm-ups/vocalises, some time spent on music reading/sight-singing practice, and some time working on repertoire. The length of each of these will depend on lesson length, student needs, and students’ individual goals.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a professional classical singer. I hold a Bachelor of Music from Westminster Choir College, and a Master of Music from Frost School of Music of University of Miami. Previously, I taught voice and piano for two years at Miami Conservatory of Music.
