- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
How much does it costs? Each item is priced by the number of blocks that are created from the T-Shirts and whether or not a wall hanging or quilt will be created. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process for working with an online Thumbtack customer is to present a basic overview of what I offer, pricing, and request additional information. The additional information includes quilt size and or number of T-Shirts, batting options, fabric backing selections, and fabric colors/designs. Everything can be handled with Thumbtack - email and or a phone call. I do request a written confirmation in Thumbtack email on final selections before I purchase any fabrics and start the process.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
During a summer break in my youth, I completed a sewing class to learn basic sewing information and how to operate a sewing machine. Two summer dresses were completed for class projects. I still have the dresses that are good reminders of techniques, the pride of learning something new, and fond memories of high school summer breaks. Many years later, I completed a Sewing Class that was offered by a local fabric store in the Kansas City metropolitan area. My class project was the Jackson Family Reunion T-Shirt Quilt. I learned how to utilize a pattern to create the traditional block T-Shirt Quilt design. I have continued to learn more techniques and designs by attending a basic sewing class, free motion quilting class, purchasing books and magazines, and watching YouTube videos.
