BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!!!!!!!! I have used Thumbtack in the past for projects at my home in Atlanta and the professions completed the projects and I paid them. However, on February 15, 2025 I agreed to meet this company at my new home that I recently purchased in Alexandria, Louisiana. Martinez Acosta and one his friends came over to my home. I showed him what I wanted to have done, which was the painting of my rooms-living room, Kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, and some touch up paint. He gave me a price I told him that I would purchase my own paint, which I brought from home depot for $800.00. He was scheduled to start on Monday, February 17, 2025, however, he texted saying that he was having car problems. I told him to take care of his car and I would see him on the next day. When he did come to my home, he asked if he could park his truck in my drive way overnight. I allowed him to do this for the entire week because I was trying to be understanding, however, he came, placed primer in the dining room, kitchen, and my bedroom. I went back to my home to see how everything was going and he stated the primer had to dry. He continued with excuses from Tuesday until finally on Saturday night/Sunday morning he was done with the painting. I felt like Martinez was continuing to ask me about other things that I may have mentioned in conversation that I wanted to get done to my house, such as staining my deck, getting my house deep cleaned-which is when he mentioned his mom could clean my house. HOWEVER-on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 I HAD TO CALL THE POLICE FOR THEM TO LEAVE MY HOUSE AND EVEN THEN THEY DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE. I HAVE NEVER FELT UNSAFE IN MY HOUSE AND FOR ME TO PURCHASE MY NEW HOUSE ON FEBRUARY 7 2025 AND THEN FOR SOMEONE THAT I HAVE ALREADY PAID 2300.00 TO FOR PAINTING TO GET VERY DISRESPECTFUL TO ME IN MY HOUSE AND I ASKED HIM TO LEAVE....This company was unprofessional wasted time with finishing my painting and his mother wasted time with doing a “deep clean” on my house…. She started cleaning on Monday, February 24, 2025 and I went to back to my house on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 and my house looks the same. His mother was supposed to be cleaning and he (Martinez Acosta) was supposed to be finishing up painting and placing my air condition vents back-HOWEVER THEY ARE STILL DOWN AND I HAVE TO PAY SOMEONE ELSE MORE MONEY TO DO IT BECAUSE HE SHOULD HAVE PLACED THEM BACK UP. I UNLOCKED MY HOUSE AND DISARMED THE ALARM AT 4:21 PM. I CHECK MYU CAMERAS AT MY HOUSE AND MARTINEZ AND HIS MOTHER HAD DISCONNECTED THEM SO I ARRIVED AT MY HOUSE AROUND 7:30 PM APPROXIMATELY 3 HOURS LATER...MARTINEZ HAVE HIS TURCK PULLED UP IN MY DRIVEWAY WITH THE HOOD UP AND HIS MOTHER IS STANDING IN THE KITCHEN SINK WITH THE WATER ON AND EVERYTHING IN MY KITCHEN AND MY HOUSE APPEARED TO BE THE SAME THAT IT WAS WHEN I WAS AT MY HOUSE EARLIER THAT MORNING....SO IN 3 HOURS YOU HAVE NOT MOPPED OR SWEPT MY LIVING OR KITCHEN AREA. I JUST COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT THEY FELT COMFORTABLE ENOUGH TO DISCONNECT MY CAMERAS WITHOUT EVEN CALLING TO ASK ME....SOMETHING WAS VERY STRANGE. I told them to leave and they refused I felt threatened in my own house so I had you call the police to make them leave. I paid then showed it to the officer and they finally left. I didn’t want them in my house anymore after they had already been there for almost two weeks and nothing was completed like it should have been. I highly suggest never hiring these people because you will not be satisfied with the work and it was very embarrassing that I had to call the police to make them leave my house.
TODAY, FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2025, I HAVE DECIDED TO POST A REVIEW BECAUSE MARTINEZ AND HIS MOTHER ARE STILL TEXTING ME AFTER THE POLICE TOLD THEM TO LEAVE MY HOUSE AND NOT CONTACT ME, MARTINEZ IS GIVING MY CELLPHONE NUMBER OUT TO RANDOM PEOPLE WHO STARTED TEXTING ME TODAY. I HAVE PAID THEM MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR THE WORK THAT HE SON COMPLETED. AS FAR AS A DEEP CLEAN SHE DID NOT DO HER JOB. IT DOES NOT TAKE 3 DAYS TO CLEAN A HOUSE WHICH IS WHY I DID NOT PAY HER BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE THAT WERE TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MY KINDNESS...HOW DO YOU TELL SOMEONE IN THEIR OWN HOUSE THAT YOU ARE NOT LEAVING.
I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN MY HOME. THE ALEXANDRIA POLICE DEPARTMENT IS AWARE OF THIS SITUATION AND THEY ENSURED ME THAT IT WILL BE HANDLE IMMEDIATELY. I HAVE HAD TO CHANGE ALL OF MY LOCKS, FILE A RESTRAINING ORDER. I JUST WANT THEM TO LEAVE ME AND MY FAMILY ALONE. I HAVE CONTACTED THUMBTACK TRUST AND SAFETY TEAM SO THAT MARTINEZ AND HIS MOTHER WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO ANY OTHER CUSTOMERS THE WAY THAT I WAS DONE.
