Introduction

Before starting Wilson's Wires, I worked as a math teacher. This explains one of my key strengths as an electrician: I ensure my customers understand how the electrical systems I install will meet their needs while keeping them and their homes safe. I got my start working with electricity through 4-H and Science Fair projects I did as a kid. My first first job in the field came to me because an electrician was impressed with the off grid solar power system I designed and built for my farm.

I charge $100 per hour, have a $200 minimum for service calls, and offer free estimates.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For jobs up to one full day I typically provide estimates based on a phone call and pictures. For more complex jobs I will provide an estimate after I visit the site. I keep my van stocked with the most frequently needed materials so that many house calls can be completed without a materials run.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked for Atlas Electric and Ziemba Electric in New Orleans between 2017 and 2021 during breaks from my work as a math teacher. My background studying physics and teaching math enabled me to effectively prepare for my licensure exam in a self-guided way.
