- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
*** We do not notarize Testaments that were not made by a Louisiana Attorney or a Louisiana Notary. We do not notarize Powers of Attorney that were not made by a Louisiana Attorney, Louisiana Notary, or an Insurance Company. We do not notarize documents made by Legal Zoom. They are CA attorneys not authorized to practice law in Louisiana. *** Since a Civil Law Notary Public can draft and execute documents, all prices are based per document and the type of document. Some documents, by law require certain disclosures to be given by the notary, as such they may be additional. Travel fees are always quoted separately if applicable. Basic notarizations are usually flat rate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The type of service is determined first - will document creation be needed. Documents in Louisiana are typically custom to the individual, so there aren't too many legal forms for one to find on the Internet. Using forms from another state is not advisable also as their laws and legal terminology is generally different. Second, place and time is gathered. Lastly, the signing is done.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In Louisiana, Civil Law Notaries Public must pass the statewide Civil Law Notary Public exam. It is a five hour exam that encompasses the education requirement for the Office of Notary Public. Notaries Public are able to draft documents relating from Adult Adoptions to ones Last Will and Testament, therefore the testing covers some 24 chapters of topics incl
