FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Scan services pricing varies depending on the type of photo, document or memorabilia and your preservation goals. Every person's collection is unique and usually consists of a variety of memorabilia. For example, loose photos, fragile photos, extremely small or large photos, as well as albums and scrapbooks of varying sizes. Most services are charged by the scan with lots of options so you can create the digital collection the way you imagine it. I offer specialized services as well. The goal of your collection such as how you want to use your digital images now and in the future is the most important factor in determining the type of services you need. You can email or call for pricing.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I work on a personal basis with each customer. Because the services needed will depend on the reason the items are being scanned and how the final images will be used, a phone call is the best way to discuss the goals of your scanning project. I then send a Services and Price List along with prepping instructions, as needed. I also offer pre-scanning organizing tips so you get the digital collection you're dreaming of. A personal appointment time is set up whenever you are ready to get started. At the appointment, we'll go over what's in your collection and you'll have the opportunity to ask any additional questions before I get started.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a member of a unique and growing organization, The Photo Managers (formerly Association of Personal Photo Organizers). Its focus is to provide ongoing education, training and support to its members who provide personalized photo management services to members of their local communities and beyond. I am a Certified Personal Photo Manager and specialize in pre-and post-photo scanning and organizing guidance and training. Knowing how to best organize and prepare your memorabilia is critical to getting a collection you can enjoy and be proud to pass on to future generations!
