FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We don't have a complicated pricing system. All are prints are sold by the print so you have no waste. Too many times studios are still pricing their prints in packages and the client has to purchase more prints than needed to get what they need or pay high ala carte prices. In days past when we had film that is the way our color labs sold prints to us at the best cost but now with the electronic capture we buy prints by the square inch so we can sell to our clients by the sizes they need. We can also now get prints in sizes that were never available in years past because of the newer technology.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to have some type of contact with them prior to the session. We prefer to have an in studio consultation if possible. Sitting down with the client prior to the session results in better portraits. It gives the client and ourselves a chance to know each other and the clients are more relaxed. Also a big item is clothing. A clothing consultation can make or break how the final portrait will look.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes we do continuing education through various means. We attend conventions that specialize in senior and family portraits. We watch on line programs, We get several magazine and online articles that pertain to the different types of photography we do and we are part of online forums where we can study articles by other photographers and study types of lighting and posing that are posted by other photographers. When at conventions we also spend a lot of time discussing the trade with other photographers and suppliers to keep up with the latest in ideas.
