Cody and his team took on my previously started project to put my stair railing back together. He took on the project though he was already busy, which we really appreciate. There were concerns with reliability. However, he did keep his word and completed the job. Thanks for coming to our rescue.

I had fence badly in need of repairs and steps from deck that had become unsafe. Cody and Joe did a great job assessing what needed to be done and getting the job completed. Cody kept me in constant communication while we were planning the job and during the multi-day construction. Parking on my street is very tight, and the weather was horrible, but they did not complain at all about the circumstances. I am planning on re-hiring them to replace the rest of the deck.

I don’t know how he gets good review. He is rude and add extra charge that we never discuss about. He quoted for materials and labor but at the end charged $150 for debris removal without asking. On top of that he added $75 “service charge” for “provide tool to customers location and for him to go pick up materials. Was not on time. The photos showed what he left us with. When I discussed about it. I told him I would pay for his lousy job but will not pay for the debris removal, he threatened to tear the fence down. Threatened to call a cop for what we never discussed about. Ridiculous. It has always been dramatic conversations with him. He is rude and lash out a lot.

We had some difficulty scheduling the service, mainly due to the distance from York & Son's to our home, but they came and did the job quickly and professionally and it appears to be well done.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Each welding/fabrication job has a different price. I have hourly rates set for Industrial, Commercial, & Residential type jobs. For larger jobs we can also give a quote per job if the customer would like. Each welding process also has its own rate per hr. Mig, Tig & Stick welding. We have a service charge & depending on where the job is located is what determines the price of the service charge.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
In the past, on several occasions for larger industrial jobs/projects I met with the business owner or project manager to walk the job over, go over any blueprints, fill out any necessary plant paperwork, exchange insurance info, employee info, prior to starting the job. Residential jobs/projects I will request any pictures of the repair or fabrication the customer is needing/wanting done or in some cases I will have to go to the residence to look the job over before giving an hourly rate or overall quote per job/project.

I have been a Certified skilled professional welder/fabricator for 17 years with over 20 years experience as a welder & fabricator.
