Introduction

I am trained as a fine artist and graphic designer, with a keen eye for bold compositions and colorful nuance. A natural extension for me was to move into film photography, and as time has passed, I now love shooting with Sony mirrorless cameras. If you have an event that means a lot but you don't want an overly serious photographer, I'm your person. What I mean by that is I try to blend into the background and only stand out when necessary (like when arranging people for a more formal group shot). If you have a shot list of necessary shots, I welcome that guidance to make sure I'm in the right spot of your event at certain times. I have a small network of photographers in case we might need an extra photographer to work alongside me for your event, I just need time to plan ahead for that.

I was looking for a photographer for my in-laws 60th wedding anniversary party and Runwithit Photography was the perfect fit! Matt was responsive and collaborative to make sure our needs were met. This was an outdoor and indoor informal afternoon event held at a residence. We wanted candid as well as group shots because extended family was in town. Matt did a great job mixing with the crowd of 60-80 people and was very professional. Matt edited the pictures and sent back the best ones in a Google drive folder to share. We were very happy with the pictures and the whole experience. Would recommend and hire again!

Matt is amazing!!! I had him for my wedding and I had to change the date twice with the Covid going on and he totally worked with me and didn’t cancel or anything. Matt did a great job capturing the personality of our daughters in our photos and worked hard to make sure we had the best lighting possible for our outdoor fall photo shoot. He was also patient enough to get a few pics with our young dogs! He arrived early and set up quickly and efficiently. We will definitely have him take our family photos again next time!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have two degrees that rely heavily on photography acumen that I have developed over the years. Graphic Design was my undergrad, which is when I began to get serious about photography to add content to my overall designs in print or online. I furthered the importance of quality content development while completing my Masters degree in Integrated Marketing Communication. This turned me even more into ecommerce, where photos substitute seeing a product in person. My biggest challenge was learning to set the perfect white and no background for Amazon listing photos. All the while I have built my stock photography portfolio, which includes photos I have sold to buyers as far as Europe.
