FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We meet, sign a Letter of Agreement, talk about/through the event, discuss the needs of both the customer and myself, then keep in contact via email or text.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
True story...My best friend of 20 yrs was getting married. He asked me to be his best man. We were talking about the reception. I asked what kind of entertainment they had booked. He said they were going to use a boom box and rotate cds throughout the night. I figured that a boom box would not be loud enough for 100-150 guests, and that they would not be able to keep up with changing cds since they would probably be crowd mingling. I offered to bring my sound system and computer, create a playlist, hook it up, hit the shuffle button, and let 'er go. Throughout the night I had guests asking me to play this song or that song. It seemed to go over pretty well. A couple months later, word had got around at my job that I had been a "DJ" at my best friend's wedding. I was then asked to "DJ" the company Christmas Party. That led to a couple more parties, a couple more weddings to you now reading my profile.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you think there is a question that is going to be asked by the DJ, have an answer. Many times I've asked a question to get the response, "I knew you were going to ask that, I'll get an answer for you later."
