- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing will vary depending on the scope of work. I like to start projects with an introductory phone call; I do not charge anything for this. If Ava James Design seems like a good fit for your project we will move to a face to face meeting in the space you would like us to work on. This meeting usually last approx. 1-2 hours and I charge a $250 consultation fee at this point. Any ideas discussed during the meeting are, of course, yours to keep. If you want to move forward with your project a design fee will be agreed upon and our contract will be discussed at that time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to make sure I am a good fit for your project with a phone conversation regarding your project and your vision. If we decide to move forward to the design consultation we will meet in your home and discuss your project in person. I have a "Getting to know you" form that we will fill out so that I can get a better feel for your project and your ideas (if you don't have any ideas thats ok too! thats where I come in :). If you decide you want to hire me for the duration of your project we will discuss my contract and my design fee associated with you scope of work. Your input and feedback is welcomed through the entire project.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got started in interior design as a hobby of my own. This branched into friends and family members who needed design advice for their homes. Transforming spaces and helping people feel calm and grounded in their own homes bring me so much joy, this is why I decided to make a business out of my passion.
