FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard pricing is typically $30 per half hour per student if the student can travel to my in home studio and $35 per half hour per student if I travel to them. If I am teaching the same lessons to more than one student in a group per hour, I then charge $10 per half hour per student.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process for working with a new student is to initially found out what genres of music I will be working on with them. Next, I ask whether they like to sit still, upright, and focused the whole time just doing worksheets and things of that nature, or if they like corporating a little fun in the learning process. Once that has been figured out, I ask if they like to receive homework due by the next lesson or not, or if they just want to only work on assignments while I am there to help. Then, I ask what level is needed and whether they will have an individual lesson plan for me each week, if I should plan on bringing my own all of the time, or if it will vary. From there, I meet with them to answer any additional questions they may have, and then begin!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Associate's Degree in Fine Arts and have completed around 80 college credits. I took many courses relating to the subjects I go over with students. I also was a substitute teacher for grades K-5, and I am currently a self-employed voice and piano lesson instructor and singer who has had experience doing music camps and teaching various students over the years. Additionally, I have taught religious education classes at my church.
