- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Music lesson rates and discounts are based on the amount of enrollment purchased with options to purchase single lessons to experience before committing to extended periods of enrollment. 1. Pay as you go single music lessons are charged at rate of $50/0.5 HR or $100/ HR (online music lessons receive a $5 discount on quoted rates) 2. Monthly enrollment allows you to book a consistent time slot throughout the month. $45 / 0.5 HR or $90/HR (online music lessons receive a $5 discount unquoted rates) Prepaid music lesson enrollment received discounted rates for lesson periods that have been prepaid a minimum of one month in advance. All prepaid enrollment plans include an additional month within the first payment to begin a prepaid cycle, avoid prorated rates, and qualify the first month for the prepaid discounted rates associated with the lesson plan of choice. Continuing enrollment requires payment one month prior to the beginning of each following lesson prior. For example the first payment on monthly prepaid enrollment , beginning in march, would include March and April. To continue prepaid discounted enrollment prepayment for May would be due April 1st. Makeup lessons are provided for any prepaid lessons that may need to be canceled or rescheduled at any time with no additional costs or penalties. Make up lessons never expire, even between periods of enrollment, and can be added to any available time slot as an additional lesson to the normal weekly lesson schedule of any current or future prepaid lesson plan equal or greater in value. 3. Quarterly prepaid discounted enrollment $35/0.5 hr/wk or $70/hr/wk for period of 3 months prepaid one month in advance. (online music lessons receive a $5 discount unquoted rates) 5. 6 months prepaid discounted enrollment $30/0.5 hr/wk or $60/hr/wk for a period of 6 months prepaid one month in advance. (online music lessons receive a $5 discount unquoted rates) 6. Annual prepaid discounted enrollment $25 / 0.5 hr/wk or $50 / hr/wk for period of 12 months prepaid one month in advance. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
All customers must first register for a phone or video conference with one of our music teachers to discuss musical goals and availability. No payment information is required to register. Availability is provided in order of registration.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Though the music teachers at McMusic Lessons are primarily classically-trained, as students of theory and composition, we study, write, perform, and teach in a variety of styles and genre. The music director, Kevin McClain has been playing rock, alternative, funk, jazz, improvisation, and formally studied music all throughout grade school, high school, and college. He received his associate's degree from Moraine Valley Community College where he studied Theory I - IV, classical piano, classical guitar, and played guitar in the Moraine Valley Jazz Band. He was recommended to the guitar and composition programs at DePaul University School of Music in Chicago, Illinois. His degree was left unfinished after moving to Fort Bragg North Carolina in support of his Wife and Her commitment to the United States military. He spent time teaching on base and began conducting online music lessons to maintain students in various locations.
