Introduction

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Composition from Columbia College Chicago. I studied under Marcos Balter, Drew Baker, Ilya Levinson, and Ken Kumpf. I am a self-taught guitar player who has played-in and written music for numerous award winning producers, rock bands, jazz ensembles, and folk ensembles over the past 16 years. Lessons, based on skill-level of the student, will incorporate college level material. I like to find that balance between challenge and reward for my students, so there's always a forward momentum! Rock, blues, metal, folk, jazz, and classical are genres I teach. I also focus on technique within each style, such as: scales, modes, chord inversions, finger-picking, hybrid-picking, tapping, sweeping, string-skipping, speed, and phrasing. I love teaching people guitar and music, that includes: all ages and all skill levels! I'm very passionate about teaching, so I create individual lesson plans based off of the student's current skill level and goals. Ultimately I believe music is all about having fun! The more you have fun the more you learn!
