FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I will do my absolute best to work with you and come to an agreement on pricing we both feel is fair. Any job 15 miles or more outside the radius of Peoria/East Peoria will usually be accepted, however there will be a small travel expense fee added to the overall total for services. I'll go as far east as Bloomington-Normal, west to Galesburg, North to Chillicothe, and South as far as Lincoln and most other towns falling within that radius. . So, as an example, the travel fee to the furthest point (Lincoln) would be $30
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It can be job dependent. For larger, more complex jobs I prefer to schedule an on-site estimate day so that I can get eyes on the project and speak with the customer in person so that I have a full understanding of his/her needs. For smaller jobs or areas that I have significant experience in, I will typically discuss with the customer over a few messages and then send the estimate electronically. Once the estimate is accepted, I will make contact to schedule a day to do the work, assuming that was not already accomplished in our initial talks. But for any customer, be it new or follow-on business, I'm all about transparency in communication. I will be upfront and honest when it comes to my experience and any strengths or weaknesses I feel I might have in certain areas so that they can make an informed decision on which pro they choose. If it's a job that I don't feel comfortable with accepting, usually due to lack of experience or past difficulties with a job that I have yet to rectify, I will not accept the job. I never want to put a customer in a position where they are essentially the guinea pig for my skills development. I want to know what I'm doing and get it right the first time. With a paying customer, it's never practice, it's game day.
