- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to do a brief interview with a customer to get an overview of what they are looking for, price range, type of event, their idea for the overall ambiance or target group, and then provide a detailed proposal for the service I can offer, pricing, staffing, items which need to be procured, etc. Once we have agreed on the proposal terms I start working.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a level 4 certification in Wines from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET Diploma), one of the most internationally recognizable sommelier/wine certificates. I also have experience working as a server, bartender, chef, cellar hand, and in wine sales/marketing.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
In 2017 I realized that I hated working in an office so I quite my corporate job in security and risk management and returned to wine and travel - my true loves. I had previously run a private chef business on Thumbtack as a side project, but now my focus is mainly on wine.
