FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
30 min. lesson - $35; 45 min. lesson - $45; 1 hr. lesson - $55 ***$5 discount if you travel to me ***$10 discount on multiple lessons at the same address
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, I will give one complimentary trial lesson. This is usually a half hour, and is essentially a meet-and-greet. I gather information on a student's prior experience, musical background, and expectations; as well as tell them about my playing experience and teaching philosophies. If there's time afterwards we can also get into some piano playing. After this, should you choose to proceed, we can build a lesson plan together and come up with a weekly schedule.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been playing piano for 20 years and have studied with countless piano teachers in the D.C., Syracuse, and Chicago areas. I graduated high school in the D.C. area and went to Syracuse University for my B.A. Instructors I have worked with include: Joe Riposo, Jim Levy, Bob Murad, Wade Beach, Rick Montalbano, and Peter Schwendener. I focus mostly on jazz, rock, pop, and blues piano, but know my way around some classical repertoire as well. I specialize in New Orleans blues piano playing.
