I would NOT recommend Axel Luna's services. While he was communicative during the inquiry process and arrived on the scheduled day, that was the only positive aspect of his service. He needed to install five locks, among other tasks, but due to either a misunderstanding or limited English (as he stated), he installed them on the wrong doors. Despite being provided with detailed explanations and photos of where and how to install the locks, and being encouraged to reach out with any questions, he only contacted me once. Nevertheless, he failed to properly understand the instructions and installed two locks on the wrong doors—doors that led to private storage areas. This mistake suddenly provided every tenant in the building access to these private areas since the locks were commonly keyed for tenant access to public areas. When his error was pointed out, he simply responded with, "I installed the locks that were on these boxes!" He claimed he had to go to another job, so he didn’t fix his mistake, resulting in me having to spend three hours going out to the property that night to fix things. This is completely unacceptable service. Moreover, and more concerningly, he claimed he knew how to repair wooden stairs. His so-called "fix" involved merely adding more nails/screws, a two-by-four, and/or caulking to cover the issue, which did not address the structural integrity of the stairs. This left a serious risk of injury. Such "repairs" are exactly what building codes and permit requirements aim to prevent. Additionally, he was only asked to provide a quote and description of the work needed for one of the stairwells. Instead, he took it upon himself to "fix" them without authorization and presented it as an extra favor, saying, "I also finished this!" On a minor note, he did manage to mount some lockboxes to walls and replace a sink pipe to fix a leak, though I have not been able to verify the quality of this repair. If you choose to hire Axel, I strongly advise giving him only simple tasks and closely supervising his work. However, I would recommend seeking someone else for more reliable service.
