- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My education and training in construction or painting was while assisting on projects, the guys would show me how to do things, how to change a faucet, how much paint to have on your brush, or how to take measurements. I am a hands-on learner and sometimes I would be told to do small projects on my own. You learn from mistakes and you just get better.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My dad began taking me to work with him when I turned 15. He had me on clean up duty and if any of the guys needed assistance, I would be the one to help them. While assisting the guys or even helping my dad on a small project, they would show me to do various jobs, give me tips on doing them easier or just how to do things correctly. Once I was in my mid 20’s, my dad allowed me to join him in meetings with clients, there is where I learned how to speak with clients and the office work that is the most difficult part of a business, in my opinion.
