FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do not list prices. A price is given when a client requests a quote. There is not an hourly price, but the bulk of the pricing is always in the first hour, and then much less for additional hours. As an example, hiring a violinist for 2hrs is only $75 more than it is for 1hr.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When a customer requests a quote, specific information such as type of music ensemble (solo, violin/guitar duo, trio, quartet), day, time, duration, and location is needed. Most communication takes place via email or phone contact if desired. I generally do not meet in person prior to the event, since audio/video clips are posted online. When a client decides they want to hire our services, I email them a contract to complete and sign. They can mail it back with the requested deposit, or they can scan/email the contract to me, and send the deposit via their mobile banking app.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In high school and in college I studied with 2 former members of the Chicago symphony. I graduated from Sherwood Music Conservatory in Chicago (now a department of Columbia College). I was a member of the Chicago Civic Orchestra while in college, and a few years afterwards. I am a union member of the Chicago Federation of Musicians. I have been performing as solo violinists and also part of music ensembles for weddings and parties since the mid-'90's.
