Introduction

Instructors at Moscow Music Academy have a track record of excellence in teaching and are noted performers in the community. Since opening in 1993 as a guitar lesson studio (GTR Music Studio), we have grown to offer lesson programs for piano, drums, voice, ukulele, violin, saxophone and more and have continued to earned a reputation for providing quality and consistency. You can be assured of having an instructor you won't out grow quickly that is excited about sharing their professional tips and mentoring you in your musical journey no matter what level you currently play so that you reach the goals you have in mind. We balance fun with making sure you have the best materials to help you learn. Too often teachers set up shop and only teach what they know how to do, or stick students with outdated materials (or nothing at all) which means that you're not getting your time or moneys worth. Our instructors are familiar with a wide variety of teaching materials (including using technology), and can help you select ones best suited to your interests. You'll be using the best industry standard materials so that if you ever move away and continue lessons with another teacher, you an pick up right where you left off! When a student says "Wow, that was easy! or has that 500 watt light bulb "ah ha!" moment about a musical concept because one of our teachers was able to simplify something complex.

What a terrific music school: well organized, gifted and excellent teachers, attention to the kids' interests, well planned out growth path for kids, periodic concerts and show of talents events - I could go on and on. Our teacher was Scott, and my son enjoyed every lesson with him. Scott is a talented musician and a talented teacher simultaneously. He is a very inspiring, thorough and a gentle teacher. When my son wanted to sing in addition to playing piano, Scott took out the time to find an excellent set of songs that were liked by my son and fit my son's vocal capabilities and skill level. This developed even more of my son's interest, confidence, and talent. Scott strikes a special accord with kids somehow. My son says Scott is the best teacher - thank you, Scott, so very much. We had to move to another state and we miss Scott and all of the teachers in Moscow Music Academy very much. Thank you Scott, Michelle, Emma, and everybody at MMA for your dedication, leadership, talent, and willingness to teach such a wonderful subject - a gift really - as music.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
At Moscow Music Academy, we believe that the best way to learn music is with one-one, private instruction. Each lesson is tailored individually, for the way the student learns best. We take into account age, experience, personality, and learning style. At your first lesson your instructor will take time to get to know about your goals and interests and then get you started with some basics to develop the skills you will need for playing or singing your favorite songs. They will help find a lesson book that is fits your style of learning and ability so that you will have something to work from at home between each lesson.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our instructors continually keep up to date on materials, programs and concepts that come out regularly by attending conferences, networking with their musical peers, reading industry recognized publications, attending and or participating in live concerts, master classes, or competitions. In the age of Youtube where there is so much content provided, we do our best to stay up to date and know what resources are helpful and worth recommending to our students.
