FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am not the cheapest to hire but the quality and attention to detail is worth the extra cost. My work is guaranteed for a year and have honored warranties longer. I do not work as a carpenter for the money I work as a carpenter for fulfillment. Doing something right is not good enough. I strive for perfection every time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically call the customer and set up a time to meet and get the scope of the work they are looking to get done. If it is a smaller project or repair I will likely get the information during the call and pick up supplies on the way to meet them. Then I talk with them about expectations, logistics, scheduling, pricing and/or give them a written estimate. If they accept the proposal I will require a material and labor deposit of half up front and the other half of the payment will be required upon completion of the project, or a modified contract will be signed if the project is larger and/or requires milestone payments.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I actually have a degree in tax accounting and macro economics. I completed an apprenticeship for finish carpentry. I have worked on foundation crews as a lead, framing crews as a lead, I have worked for a custom door and window manufacturer, I have worked in a wood mill, I have ran a winery in the California wine country and at BMW mechanic shop. I have worked as an apprentice lineman. I have worked as a superintendent for a remodel company. Every experience has given me a broad education and unique outlook on myself and my trade. I look forward to challenges and will excel as a result.
