Painting your home's interior is an easy way to give your space a completely new look in 2024. Perhaps you want to show off more of your personality or style in your kitchen. Or, maybe you want your living room to feel calm and peaceful.
A bold color palette can draw attention and character, while a soothing interior palette can provide a sense of comfort, mystery, and charm. But which one should you choose, and which colors should you add to it?
If you’re interested in painting your home's interior but don't know which colors to go with, consider some of the most popular trends. Here are the 2024 paint colors of the year, according to the biggest leaders in the paint industry.
PPG Paint predicts that soothing colors that evoke a sense of calm and peace will be a top trend in 2024. Cool and soft shades can provide comfort while giving your space a fresh new look. Some examples included in this palette are pale gray, beige, blush, light aqua, warm yellow, soft mauve, and more.
PPG Paint has another top color palette trend for 2024: earthy, floral, and natural hues.
These colors are bolder and darker than the ones in the cool and soothing palette. But they’re not moody and ominous — they're warm and vibrant. A few examples include rosy pink, cappuccino, pecan and caramel brown, dusty violet purple, green, and more.

Benjamin Moore reveals that Blue Nova 825 will be a top paint color this year. This violet-blue is calming and inspiring, and it's a great choice as a standalone for your home’s interior. It complements off-white, tan, and blue-gray tones as well.
Another blue made it onto a “Colors of 2024” list. This time, it's a lighter blue called “Upward” by Sherwin Williams. The paint brand describes it as a “breezy, blissful blue.” It’s a relaxing hue that you may want to consider for your bedroom, dining room, or bathroom.

PPG Paint’s top color of the year for 2024 is “Limitless,” a soft and warm yellow tone. Benjamin Moore also included a soft, yellow hue in its 2024 trends. It’s called “Honeybee.”
Both of these yellows are versatile, so consider them if you want to warm up your kitchen, bedroom, or living room. If you don’t want an all-yellow room, use it as a supporting shade. For example, you can use it to repaint your kitchen's ceiling or to create an accent wall.
Earthy, natural tones are in again, so it's no surprise that green is the top color of the year. More specifically, a few deep greens have made appearances on both PPG Paint and Benjamin Moore’s color trends for 2024.
Benjamin Moore’s “Regent Green” is a moody, dark pine shade you may want to consider for a den, home office, entertainment room, or library. PPG Paint’s “Pine Garland” and “Still Searching” aren’t as dark as “Regent Green." However, they may be more suitable for more lively areas of your home (like the kitchen or living room).
If you think orange walls are a big no-no, think again. Benjamin Moore and PPG Paint included a rich, radiant, and deep orange hue on their top color palettes for 2024.
Neither of these colors is loud or extremely bright. PPG Paint’s “Cajun Spice” is described as a “deep, bright, apricot orange with a cinnamon undertone.” Meanwhile, Benjamin Moore’s “Topaz” is a “deep, radiant orange with rich undertones of brown and red.”
There's also Pantone's color of the year, which isn't exactly orange — it's "Peach Fuzz." It's a fresh, warm, subtle, pinkish-orange hue that gives you that warm, fuzzy feeling (hence its name).

Benjamin Moore also provides some living room inspiration. Depending on the mood you create, you might choose living room and ceiling paint color trends like:
Keep in mind that lighter and more neutral tones will create a more minimalist and relaxing space, while bolder and deeper colors can create a more stimulating space.
Whether you like relaxing alone in your living room or love hosting parties and having guests over, the color of your living room paint can set the tone.
For bedrooms, paint supplier Sherwin Williams recommends neutral and soothing colors to support relaxation. These include hues like:
These colors set a peaceful tone inside a bedroom, which can signal it’s time to relax, rest, and unwind.
The kitchen is often considered the heart of the home, so it’s a focal point you’ll want to carefully consider when you’re weighing paint color options. For kitchen walls, paint supplier Farrow & Ball suggests cozy and inviting kitchen colors, like:
You can contrast the kitchen wall paint with the paint colors of fixtures like cabinets. For example, Farrow & Ball suggests pairing soothing pink walls with striking black cabinets. Eggshell white walls look great with dark gray fixtures. If you choose a bolder color for kitchen walls, like a dark green, you could lighten up fixtures with a soft cream for contrast.
Your bathroom paint color choice should also depend on the mood you want to evoke. Do you want to create a relaxing spa-like atmosphere? Do you want a flirty and feminine get-ready room for going out? Consider these suggestions from Benjamin Moore:
According to the paint supplier, deeper, richer colors can make a small space look bigger. An unexpected color on the ceiling can add interesting contrast to neutral walls. You can also add contrast by painting cabinet fixtures a distinct color compared to bathroom walls and ceilings.
When it comes to paint choices and combinations, the options are limitless. While your home’s exterior can be seen by all who pass by, your interior paint choices can impact your mood at any moment. Think about what’s important to you. Then, explore paint colors that support the atmosphere you want to create.
