FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I try to price jobs according to the amount of time the job should take. For some jobs, I simply have a set price, but I also offer services by the hour. I currently offer a 15% discount for a full 8 hour day's work to pass my savings along to the customer.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically introduce myself and go over the basic job parameters over text or phone call. On the day of the appointment, I show up, formally introduce myself, and then I like to go through a detailed briefing to discuss the customer's needs and wants, cost cutting methods ,material selection and procurement, potential hazards and payment options available. Afterwards, when the work is complete, I like to do a walkthrough with the customer to confirm that everything is satisfactory.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have no formal training, and I'm not sure if there is such a thing for handymen and women, but have learned with years of hands on experience and as an avid "Do It Yourselfer." I've worked in construction, maintenance, and management my entire adult life as well, particularly in the field of power line construction, maintenance and management. As a lineman you learn to use care when holding certain death in your hands. I try to treat every job I do with the same amount of care.
