Company Overview Stephen McCool’s Voice and Piano Lessons combines superior music education with a customized curriculum for light-hobbyists, moderate hobbyists, and pre-professional music students. I pride myself on providing top-quality music instruction while instilling manners and academic skills. Once I learn about the student’s and parents’ goals, lessons may include repertoire study, scales and arpeggios, and music theory. For students choosing the pre-professional program, skills include repertoire study, music theory, aural training (ear training), technique, musicianship, and sight-reading. In addition, my company provides biannual, themed studio parties (formerly recitals): fall, students’ choice; spring, teacher’s choice - for example, classical music (all eras). Also, my studio provides an events calendar of exciting local concerts. In the past, this events calendar has included operas, musicals, professional piano recitals and voice recitals, and sacred music concerts presented by many of the phenomenal music ministries in metro Atlanta. Lastly, outside of assessment program preparation, like ABRSM exams, National Piano Guild Auditions, and NFMC Jr. festival auditions, my studio includes special projects every two years: such projects include presentations at local nursing homes or a studio CD or digital album made at a professional, local recording studio.
