Introduction

Tired of repeating yourself to Americans who don't understand your English? I've been helping adults with their English for over 30 years. I have extensive training in accent reduction and personalized instruction. My specialty is working with Japanese speakers of English, but I can help people from any language background. My company is based in Atlanta, Georgia, but because of COVID, I closed my office and now am 100% online! I use a blend of methods to help with accent reduction. The base of it all is the Color Vowel Approach, which helps learners identify and produce all the vowel sounds of English. I also help learners work on how important it is to stress certain syllables and words, and how to link and connect words to sound natural and smooth. To reinforce new habits of English, I use a software with my learners called Blue Canoe, which gives you personalized training and feedback on your own smartphone! I offer free 20 minute consultations to people who are interested in learning more about my programs. Small group classes or individual training programs on Zoom with flexible scheduling, we can find something that works for you if you are serious about improving your ability to communicate in English.

I took the pronunciation class, I really enjoy them! I learned a lot of things that I have never known even though I took an English teacher certificate for high school and junior high school students in my university, Japan. For example, it is necessary for English speakers to put the accent or the stress in the right places. And I’m very interested in how to put my lips or tongue and how to move my mouth to pronounce correctly. Also she taught me the natural expressions that the native speakers often use, so I can learn new things every time. It is sometimes felt that the learning language is a long way, but the other students encouraged me a lot. (And I could understand my kids’ feelings how they feel while they took English classes or the on line classes at schools. So we could work together, that is nice, too.)

This online-class is very valuable for people who want to enhance their pronunciation and English skills. The teacher, Ms. Bigler, can provide all students with chances to talk sufficiently in online-class, so she is good at managing online-classes. In addition, each assignment which is held on Flipgrid, which is video discussion platform, will be able to receive a feedback from Ms. Bigler. She gives not only pronunciation reviews but also reviews related to general talking skills in English. Therefore, I highly recommend this class to you!

I am taking 2 of her classes right now. Ms. Bigler is a great teacher! In a class, I can practice English pronunciation a lot (she gives us a plenty of opportunities to speak), and she gives us feedback in detail. It has been only a few weeks since I started taking her classes, but I can see myself improving my accent already. She teach us thoroughly, and it is easy to understand. I like her jokes too! Overall, I really recommend her classes if you want to improve your English skills.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a masters degree, have taught TESOL certificate prorgrams, have extensive training in accent reduction, and over 30 years experience. I'm NOT the cheapest teacher out there. I'm the right one for people who are ready to invest a significant amount of money in their advancement as an English speaker. Group courses are less of a financial commitment; private lessons are more expensive but more focused and flexible.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a free 20 minute consultation to anyone who's interested. You can give an idea of how I teach, and I will do a free mini-evaluation of your English needs. There's no pressure to sign up for anything at the end; it's just for us to get to know each other.
