FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Since the complexity of the typing projects that I tackle varies greatly, I've found that working by the hour is most effective. My current hourly rate is $30/hour. I aim to be flexible in my pricing, taking into account my client's budget, and I am also open to price-matching my competitors. I am always honest and reasonable in my pricing, and at times I've given "freebies". I may not always be the lowest quote, but one thing I can assure you is that you will always get quality service and satisfaction.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Communication is key! I ask my client to explain their needs and wants in great detail, and I will follow up with questions for clarification to ensure I have a clear image of what they are envisioning. Once the first draft is complete, I will send it to my client, typically in PDF format, for their review. I invite them to give me feedback and let me know if they want any revisions made. Once their document is just right, I will send them the finalized version in an editable format for their use.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
For over 25 years I have had the pleasure of working in the office setting. The environments varied, but one thing was constant: antiquated, cumbersome, illegible forms and documents were the norm. One day, I decided to take the initiative to tackle the illegible invoices, appalling applications, and pitiful policies and procedures everyone complained about. That is when I discovered my passion for making the old, new - the sloppy, professional - and the skewed, straight! (That's how my business name was born!)
