Introduction
Welcome to Pro Performance Drum Academy! I’m Corey Ahlquist. With over 25 years behind the drum set, which has included international touring, recording in million dollar studios, and helping mold the minds of many up and coming drummers, I’ve realized you don’t have to be a virtuoso to obtain the skills required to perform at a professional level. My education from the Atlanta Institute of Music, as well as 100s of hours studying, has led me to create a structured curriculum designed to take you from beginner to pro as quickly as possible. Even if you don’t want to be a professional, you will have the tools to play like one.

All lessons are via zoom with multi camera setup and professional sound. You won’t miss in person lessons with this setup. You will receive lesson recordings, as well as have access to talk to me about any road blocks you may be facing in between lessons.
I’m not here to string you along for a paycheck. My goal is to get you to a confident performance ready place as quickly as possible.

Corey is an amazing teacher for drum lessons - I have a beginner level understanding of drums, and after one session with Corey - I feel like a new world has opened up to me.
I take weekly lessons with Corey now and will soon be playing live performances - something I never would’ve imagined being able to do on the drums.
If you’re considering taking lessons and seriously want to improve your drumming ability - working with Corey is a no brainer.

I have had a excellent experience with Corey so far. He is very knowledgeable and very easy to feel comfortable with. I feel that is a very important if you actually plan on learning anything. Even though he rocks some big stages with some pretty big names he is a real down to earth and not a pushy, demanding, overbearing person and he is very easy to get along with.
Unfortunately I've only been able to take 1 class so far. ( that is my fault) not his.
But in that one class I was able to learn some very important things to work on with my technique and as long as I pay attention to what I'm doing and follow what he taught me then I really do play a lot better.
I can tell that I can flow better and faster and dont get near as fatigued.
To me if you can learn something like that in your first class then thats a really good teacher because ive taken other classes from other people and walked away feeling more confused than anything.
So yes i would definitely recommend Corey to anyone thats really serious about learning how to play the drums because the value & outcome will far outway the cost.
