Welcome to Pro Performance Drum Academy! I’m Corey Ahlquist. With over 25 years behind the drum set, which has included international touring, recording in million dollar studios, and helping mold the minds of many up and coming drummers, I’ve realized you don’t have to be a virtuoso to obtain the skills required to perform at a professional level. My education from the Atlanta Institute of Music, as well as 100s of hours studying, has led me to create a structured curriculum designed to take you from beginner to pro as quickly as possible. Even if you don’t want to be a professional, you will have the tools to play like one. What you will learn here.... The Anatomy of a Drum Set Proper Ergonomics Hand and Foot Technique Understanding Time How to Read and Write drum charts. Essential genres of music, including Pop, Blues, Swing, Country, Funk, Metal, Dance, Rock, and World Beats. Playing Odd-Time Signatures Improvisation All lessons are via zoom with multi camera setup and professional sound. You won’t miss in person lessons with this setup. You will receive lesson recordings, as well as have access to talk to me about any road blocks you may be facing in between lessons. I’m not here to string you along for a paycheck. My goal is to get you to a confident performance ready place as quickly as possible. Offering a free introductory lesson for students who are ready to sign up for my monthly plan.
