- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I enjoy getting to know my student in the first session. We will go through a little interview process to determine their dance goals and vision. Then I will put together a personalized program for them. I will align with their goals and keep their goals central.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Dancing has always been my passion and I began dancing as a child. My first teacher was my grandmother from the South of Spain, who taught me Flamenco. From there I went on to study many forms of dance, including BALLET, JAZZ, HIP HOP and I even lived my dream of studying FLAMENCO in Barcelona for a year. However, I discovered my first love when I began dancing BALLROOM over 20 years ago. Being that I am from Havana, Cuba, it was a natural fit. Since then, I have trained with some of the best in DANCE SPORT and I also enjoy competing and have placed in many Ballroom dance competitions. I hold two NATIONAL DANCE VISION CERTIFICATIONS, with honors I am a personal trainer with The National Academy of Sports Medicine, as well as a former co owner of a gym. In addition, I worked in the healthcare industry for 15 years as a Registered Pharmacist. This gives me a unique perspective on movement and the body as a whole, that allows me to better serve my students.
