Jay did a very good job of taking care of a lot of different things we needed done including sanding and staining our deck, power washing the driveway and other areas, securing shutters and touching up the stain and capping our new fence that the person we hired prior didn’t finish properly. He was very professional, responsive, problem solved and found solutions to nuances we came across and he completed tasks in a timely manner and at high quality. Will be recommending to our friends and family and also calling back for future jobs!

Working with Jay was great! We had some larger future needs, and some smaller immediate needs and he was able to come tackle a laundry list of random tasks like crawlspace cleaning, running some Ethernet cables thru the attic and walls, and working on faucets. Genuinely good person doing great work at a fair price. Cannot recommend enough.

Excellent experience with Jay and we’ll definitely use him again. Arrived promptly at our arranged time and the work was excellent. Repaired plumbing, hung, patched & floated drywall, removed and repaired a vanity and mounted our tv to the fireplace. Rates were fair and the work was quality, I’d recommend him for your handyman/construction needs.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I use a spread sheet that calculates billing by adding labor at $30/hr plus the cost of cv materials that I have supplied plus 20% for profit and overhead costs. This comes out to $36/hr if there are no material costs. I use the same template to estimate bids or track “time and material” jobs.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After we initiate contact on Thumbtack, If the customer wants a fixed price and it seems like I need more information I will schedule a meeting at the job site to gather information and email a quote. If the customer is okay with a time and material arrangement, then I go ahead and schedule the time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took a course in project management. I have worked in the residential renovation field for 20 years. I married a licensed Architect. =P
