There are some inspectors that really don't do what I do. Some inspectors giving quotes have limited background in the construction trades. Some took a two week AHIT course while others took the ONLINE NON-PROCTORED interNACHI exam and are titled Master Certified Home Inspector BEFORE they have even stepped into their first house! I'm not in a big hurry to get there and leave. I don't have an afternoon inspection so if your home keeps me there an extra two hours, so what. Your inspection is the only thing on my mind that day. How does my work stand out from others? Ask for some actual reports of mine and compare them to actual reports of other inspectors. You will immediately see who takes the extra time and effort of putting in all those time-consuming details with supporting pictures.
You can call or text me at the info provided by Thumbtack.
I will send you credentials, verified reviews and testimonials from Thumbtack, Angie's List, Google and Home Advisor (my reviews are split amongst multiple locations, not just Thumbtack). In the response, you will also be able to review many actual inspection reports to see what your hard earned money is going to buy.
I could easily drop my price per inspection to price match the “bargain basement” inspectors and offer you the same cookie-cutter template reports that some of my competitors put out. It would surely save me time enough to perform an additional inspection or two each day. Offering my service at the same rate of the bargain basement inspector who might short cut the inspection or may not possess equivalent experience never made sense to me. I figure a buyer wants a report that will expose safety issues, be useful in negotiating, and give advice and recommendations that apply to the actual home, not just generic, narrative verbiage as found in most home inspection reports. If you took some time to review one or more of my reports, you are definitely doing your due diligence. Compare my work with others. See the difference. Saving $50-$100 dollars on a cheap inspection usually costs the buyer a whole lot more after the closing.
