FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I value my time at about $45/hr. I'm willing to work at a lesser rate if I find the work meaningful, enjoyable, or a good learning opportunity.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'm typically at first most interested in the extent to which my customer has decided on the particulars of what they want done, as opposed to wanting to establish that through dialogue or feeling uninterested in such detail. I also seek to discern what is likely to be overlooked or to go differently than expected and convey this to the customer in advance. I proceed with some degree of flexibility, if possible, in case they change their mind about something in seeing the work unfold.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Currently subcontracting as an installer for a company that distributes playsets. I trained with most of the other installers. Worked with a performing arts studio on a wide variety of projects. Worked with a custom fabrication company, mostly on set building. Worked as a research technician at the Center for Biologically Inspired Design at GA Tech, where I got my degree in applied math.
