Introduction
Although I use standard teaching materials for ear training and music literacy, I tailor lessons to student’s individual tastes by transcribing songs they want to learn for which there is no available sheet music.
Additionally, my background in biomechanics enables me to teach students to play more accurately and avoid practicing in ways that cause pain.

My daughter has taken lessons from 6th - 12th grade with Daniel Hearn. She likes that he is very personable. He makes it easy and fun to learn. As a parent, I appreciate seeing my child grow more motivated and confident because Daniel is a talented and encouraging teacher. We highly recommend.

I am the Activity Director at Azalea Estates Assisted Living. I invited Daniel to play/sing for the Residents, and they Loved him! We have standing dates on our calendar for him and the Residents look forward to his return.

My son who has dyslexia, and ADD has been taking piano and guitar lessons from Daniel for over a year. Daniel’s teaching style keeps my son engaged and focused. His patience, ability to Improv, skill, experience, versatility, knowledge and insight is the perfect fit for any child. 10/10 would recommend.

Daniel is incredibly patient with our two boys, who were 5 and 11 when they started taking lessons. He calibrates the lessons to their level, interests, and skills. He even finds the music for pop songs they want to learn. During the pandemic, he quickly switched to remote lessons. I really can't recommend him highly enough.

Our family highly recommends Daniel as a guitar and piano instructor! Daniel provides weekly in-home guitar and piano lessons for both of my kids (though over Zoom during Covid). His lessons focus on sight reading, rhythm, music theory, chords and picking technique (on guitar), and sometimes even body mechanics. Daniel makes the lessons fun for the kids and often allows them to pick songs they are interested in by current artists. We appreciate Daniel sharing his vast knowledge and musical talent with our kids. They have learned so much from him! And on top of that, Daniel is reliable, punctual, and a great communicator, which is greatly appreciated by the parents!
