FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
At the end of the day I love performing magic and sharing it with others. If price is an issue talk to me about it. I understand what it's like to have a budget, and I try to be as reasonable and accommodating as possible.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I need to make sure that I am a good fit for the event. Usually this can be achieved with a quick 5-10 minute phone conversation. This also lets us flesh out any details and get to know each other. By the end of the conversation we can usually both verbally either agree to work together or decide it's not the best fit for any particular reason. That's basically all there is to it. I will enter an appointment in my booking system, which will send out a text + email confirmation. I will also touch base a few days before the event to make sure we're all set.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Magic isn't a discipline that offers traditional education. But there is still a lot of great educational resources available, seeing as it is one of the oldest art forms documented by written language. My education primarily consists of self-learning from books, DVDs, online resources, and as much time as possible studying and training with people who have more experience than me. I am always learning, and always blown away when I see something I haven't seen before (or reinvented). I suppose, the best education (personally) comes from the constant curiosity to seek out new techniques and processes.
