St. Clair was used for grading my front yard and removing tree roots, old concrete, and debris. Tristin was very responsive, and the work quality was excellent. I would definitely rehire St. Clair Land Management again and recommend anyone needing this type of service.

Hired on Thumbtack

Hired on Thumbtack

I initially hired Tristan and St. Clair Land Management for a landscaping project involving grading. I later added two additional projects that aligned with his expertise and cut my timeline down: a) burying gutters and b) laying sod. Before beginning the project, I asked Tristan about a prior "1" rating he received from another customer. He explained it was due to a mechanical issue that day, and the customer was not too forgiving. I asked if he was past those issues and capable of handling the job, to which he assured me he was and promised a great experience. While Tristan showed potential and professionalism in some areas, there were significant challenges in others. To ensure fairness, I have rated the work across standard categories for contractors and vendors. Below is my detailed feedback: **Professionalism (Rating: 3)** - Tristan is polite and receptive to feedback, though not all corrections were implemented effectively. - Business acumen needs improvement, particularly in managing timelines and project scope and ensuring adequate resources are available to deliver. - Attention to detail was lacking. Key aspects of the scope and concerns were overlooked or forgotten, leading to rework and delays. - On a positive note, Tristan was very responsive, even amidst the issues encountered during the project. **Punctuality/Timeliness (Rating: 1)** - Tristan didn't seem to value my time. The team was rarely onsite at the agreed-upon times and no-showed on at least four occasions, citing various reasons (e.g., mechanical issues, or no reason at all). - On no-show days, I was often told, "We're on our way," but they often failed to arrive as stated. This caused significant inconvenience, as my day was planned solely around his team and the work. - Additionally, I made unnecessary trips, traveling 30+ minutes to the site each time. **Quality of Work (Rating: 3)** - **Grading:** While the overall grading was decent, it failed to address the critical water runoff issue, which was my greatest concern upfront. After multiple no-shows to correct it, I didn't feel there was a sense of urgency on their end, and with more rain coming, I ultimately fixed this issue myself. - **Burying Gutters:** The work was mostly satisfactory. However, the water runoff created pooling in the sod, requiring adjustments to align with the original scope. The outlet should have been extended into the trees instead of the sod, as originally discussed. - **Laying Sod:** This aspect of the work was completed without any issues. **Overall Rating:** 2.33/5 While there were some positives, the project was hampered by issues with timeliness, incomplete execution, and a lack of attention to critical details. I hope Tristan uses this feedback to improve his business practices moving forward. I am not including photos, texts, or additional evidence, as this review alone is sufficient to convey my experience.

Details: Less than 1 • Landscaping • Drainage • Slightly sloped • Tree stumps • Boulders • No, I will dispose of this myself

Writing a revised review from my previous review of 1 star for Tristen. In sum, it seems they had mechanical problems. Did not do the job but I promised I would provide a revised review. Seems like a decent guy trying to start a new business. The only thing I would say is to make sure to check the last 5 jobs he completed before you hire him. Again, seems like a nice kid but it's about business out here so trust...but verify.

Details: 1 to 10 • Landscaping • Slightly sloped • Flat • No obstructions • Yes, I will need the professional to haul any excess soil or debris • Residential

St. Clair Land Mgmt.'s reply
Quite literally had a tire blow out while enroute to customer on my trailer while hauling my CAT299D3 skid-steer (17,000lb machine). Sent customer proof of the incident and asked that he remain patient with us while we resolve the issue. Went back early next morning to complete the job only to be asked to be refunded. Customer was fully refunded. We do not aim to harm the customer and I, as well as the business, are deeply hurt by this review.

Hired Tristen Souder on Saturday, paid him half to be at my house to move/level/grade dirt. Was suppose to be at my house Monday morning. Said he was having trouble. Never showed. Then said he had a flat tire. Seems like a decent guy but giving him until tomorrow to show up to finish this review. It will be good or bad. Just letting everyone know before. Stay tuned everyone!
