My name is Philip Bushen, British born Athenian and owner of U-Design Athens, a residential remodeling business established over 20 years in the Athens area. I am well known for my bathroom renovations, but also specialize in smaller repairs requiring an excellent and detailed finish. My work is my passion and I love helping client refresh their homes. Service include interior painting, door hanging, custom closet or storage build, top notch dry wall repairs, custom tile to kitchen or fireplaces, room conversions and remodels, deck and fence repairs, catio and garden bed design and build. I pride myself on quality work and my past clients will all vouch for my work - I never cut corners, and whilst some of my competitors are cheaper, I will always take the time to provide my clients with work of a high standard, ensuring they are 100% happy with the end result. I am trustworthy and can provide references.

Phillip truly enjoys his work and it shows. As another reviewer noted, his attention to detail is remarkable.Philip built a beautiful new bathroom for us and did seamless drywall repair in several rooms of our house. He even noted several other small issues and fixed them while he was here. He did a great job keeping the project moving while executing the tilework and paint beautifully.In addition, Phillip was affable but extremely professional. We genuinely enjoyed working with him; we never had trouble reaching him and we appreciated his transparency and organization. He is collaborative and had great ideas for many aspects of the project but also prioritized our vision for the bathroom. We could not be more pleased. Thank you Phillip!

Philip is a true craftsman with a strong focus on quality! He performed tile work & carpentry in our home, and he painted the walls and ceilings. Four years later in our humid bathrooms, everything looks excellent! Philip is an effective & prompt communicator ... he always arrived on time and finished the job ahead of schedule. He cleaned up every day on site and never left any tools or material waste behind. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge by the hour depending the complexity of the work - I will always give a quote before starting the work and the hourly rate ranges from $30 - 50 per hour, sometimes less for simple handyman tasks.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For larger projects such as bathroom renovations I will always visit the client on site before hand and we will have several meetings before creating a proposal. For simpler handyman tasks we will discuss requirements over the phone, meet briefly and then confirm price before I carry out the work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 30 years experience in the construction industry - glass, window, tile and bathroom install, remodeling, sheetrock and dry wall and carpentry.
