FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
HELLO! let's start simply! no pressure. (sometimes all it takes is an hour or so, depending on the scope of your job, but all fees will be discussed UP FRONT, so that there are NO SURPRISES moving forward!)... during that time we will chat first about who i am, how i work, how we will work together and a bit about my design philosophy! from there, we'll do a walk-through of your space(s), and talk about what general and specific thoughts you have in mind...this is a true WORKING SESSION! i will ask questions, make suggestions, open your mind to new ideas! we might even start moving furniture and accessories around to show how those simple things can immediately change a space! the next phase, beyond on-site initial consult time is me preparing a "guess-timate" document for you. this basically entails a WISH LIST of all sorts of items that i perceive you need (items and/or services) in your spaces, with mid-range retail pricing associated with it. this'll give you a general idea and scope of your budget...from there, YOU DECIDE on what you want to prioritize and move forward with. all design fees and time are billed at $95/hr., which is well below higher-priced designers. i can work on an hourly rate OR on a pre-determined BUDGET figure. let's chat about WHAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
we might have already talked about your general design needs, and style, which will get us jump-started at that initial consult. from there, we will walk and talk through the space(s) that need "help", i'll make notes, take pictures, and then formulate a general "guess-timate" for items and work for approval before moving forward. at all times, will we converse about work and fee expectations! easy. peasy. then, idea boards will be shared and let the DESIGN MAGIC BEGIN!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
LOTS!! i have been in the design industry on many levels, for more than 40 years. i also have graphic design, advertising and photography backgrounds that DEFINITELY ADD TO MY DESIGN MAGIC! having a "design EYE" is something that i am VERY PROUD to have....this magic cannot be taught, it is just part of one's being. CLIENTS SEEM TO APPRECIATE all THAT!
