Suhana Sofia
Born in Johor, Malaysia, Suhana began playing tennis at the age of 4, chasing her dream of becoming a professional tennis player. She achieved a UTR ranking of 10.46, represented Malaysia in the Fed Cup (2017 & 2019), and secured singles wins against WTA players ranked 500, 800, and several in the 1000s all by the age of 18.
Following a nine-month lockdown in Malaysia during the COVID-19 pandemic, Suhana transitioned to collegiate tennis. She played for the University of Southern Mississippi in the top three spots over four years, earning a bachelor’s degree in Media and Entertainment. During her freshman year, she was awarded Second-Team All-Conference USA, losing only one match. Known as a doubles specialist, Suhana ended her final season undefeated at home.
Suhana’s extensive coaching experience spans players of all ages and skill levels. In Malaysia, she coached high-ranking politicians and royalty, sharing her expertise and refined technique. Upon moving to the United States, Suhana continued her coaching career, spending her first summer at Wholistic Academy and subsequent summers at Westhampton Beach Tennis and Sport.
Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Malay, Suhana also speaks some French and Korean, making her an excellent choice for a diverse range of students.
