Hi: I'm Dr. Leslie Tucker, owner of Virtual College Consulting and an associate member of the Independent Educational Consulting Association.
I’ve toured hundreds of colleges, networked with admissions reps from across the country, and edited every type of college essay you can imagine.
I absolutely love being a college planning consultant! I hope you’ll give me the opportunity to guide you through the college planning process.
I use a "holistic approach" lens when working with students.
Today’s college admissions are not just centered around grades
and standardized test scores, but rather a “holistic approach” is used in the selection process.
Academic rigor, intellectual curiosity, depth in activities lists, and a commitment to learning are all significant factors. Through a systematic approach, we will work together to ensure you are as competitive of an applicant as you want to be.
Strong college essays that demonstrate something about character,
values, and life that align with the culture and values of an institution offer a compelling edge. —A favorite part of my work! We will work together to brainstorm, build and refine your college essays.
Our work together will ensure a list of colleges that you would love
to attend—a balanced list of varying probabilities to leverage buying power.
Secure as much money in scholarships as possible and sign the dotted line of your future college home.
Interested in major and career exploration? Another favorite part of my work! These pieces are a part of my comprehensive packages.
Goals always reside with the student.
I work with students that are laser focused in getting into highly selective schools, our work together reflects this.
Other students' focus is on getting into the best school for the best price, our work together is reflective.
Regardless of students' goals, my goal is to support students earned merit scholarships. The depth of students' overall applications is a direct reflection of merit scholarship opportunities.
I never underestimate the value of fit. How students FEEL when on campus, academic opportunities, study abroad experiences, and overall fit are all extremely important for graduation rates.
My greatest satisfaction is to watch my students start college filled with confidence. They’ve gone through the college planning process, they know their strengths and interests, and are excited about their future.
