The first time I hired a chef to help me with Thanksgiving dinner. My family of 15 had nothing but 5 star review across the board! From communication to delivery to food flavor and over all taste! Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend Chef Allison! I will definitely be using her again 🤤💯💗🦃

I was looking to surprise my wife for her 50th birthday with a private chef. We have dined at 3 Michelin star restaurants before and we love food and are definitely not shy of spending money on fine dining. I contacted chef Allie and she forwarded my request to her management. I was called shortly after and we discussed any special requests and my idea for the evening. When I didn't hear back from anyone for more than a week, I kept contacting Chef Allie here on thumbtack. She eventually sent me a menu proposal for a 5-course dinner, which I asked to make small changes to. I understand that my wife's birthday is on a holiday (12/31), and I expected a higher price for the event. I was still shocked when I was quoted $1250 for a 2 person 5-course dinner without drinks! We have paid less at star restaurants for 7-course meals with drinks. I asked if it is possible to reach a lower price point ($800), and I eventually was rejected. Overall, the communication was not good, and the prices are way too high. I cannot comment on the quality of food or service. Here's the proposed $1250 dinner: Amuse_Hard boiled egg, chive, blini_ osetra caviar, lemon creme fraiche. First_ Roasted beets_ la tur cheese, toasted baguette, black garlic honey. Second_ahi tuna nigiri_ sticky rice, chanterelles, nori, asian mustard, truffle ponzu. Third_Jumbo stone crab_ grain mustard aioli, tamari brown butter. Fourth_Miso glazed chilean sea bass_ sweet potato puree, crispy Brussels sprouts. Fifth_Strawberry cheesecake_dark chocolate ganache, graham cracker, black pepper meringue.

Hermann, thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand that budget considerations are an important part of event planning. Our goal is to provide high-quality services that reflect the value and over twenty years of expertise we bring to each project. We also acknowledge that our response times are longer than usual due to the peak season. We will use this feedback to constantly improve. Unfortunately, we were unable to accommodate your budget based on the original proposal for a Six Course dinner. Our estimate did include the following: personalized menu consultation, grocery shopping and preparation (ingredient sourcing for luxury products), In-home cooking and plating, clean up, equipment, supplies, set up and decorations, transportation (as well as ingredients-in a temperature controlled environment), and a higher holiday rate. While we couldn’t align on budget this time, we’d be happy to discuss options in the future that better fit your needs and priorities. Wishing you the best with this event. Chef Allison is the best of the best! We’ve booked with her for a variety of events ranging from date night, family parties and corporate events. She never ceases to amaze us! She goes above and beyond in her service, creativity and attention to detail. She can create anything we ask of her. One of our favorite dishes she’s made was octopus bolognese- with hand made pappardelle pasta and Parmesan reggiano! We talked about it for weeks! We can’t wait to book her again.
