FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’ve been a DJ for 6 years. It’s all on the job education and learning from others in the field.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
The first question that I personally would ask a DJ is if they mix or if they just play songs. When I was growing up, what drew me to DJs was how they could seamlessly go from one song to the next blending the tracks together and creating a vibe. There are many DJs who’s style is to play one song at a time and generally just let the entire song play with no transition between songs of different styles and generes. That is not me. It’s kind of like randomly changing subjects in a conversation, I like to make my song selection coherent with each other and have a smooth segue between generes. If I’m playing upbeat music and we want a slow song to come next then it will be a smooth transition to a slow song that makes sense, not just randomly thrown into the mix. The next question I would ask a DJ is if they talk on the microphone or not. The microphone presence is almost just as important as DJing. If I myself am not on the microphone for your event then I have a separate MC that will be taking over the roll to make the event even grander than it already is. Final question I would ask is what other equipment could be brought to make my event stand out? Some of the things that I offer to make your event more spectacular are lighting packages, fog machines, Dancing on clouds, monogramming, live music performers. Little extra details like those are instruments that bring your event to the next level.
