FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our law firm employs a flat-fee model, with costs varying per case, considering its complexity and duration. We don't bill hourly, and typically require full payment upfront due to the time-sensitivity of criminal cases. However, we do offer payment plans for eligible clients, who can make a significant upfront deposit, typically 50% of the total fee. Note that a credit check may be required, and failure to settle outstanding balances may lead to our withdrawal from your case. We accept full payments in cash or credit card, with no additional transaction fees. We stand by our commitment to transparency and quality legal representation.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
New client onboarding begins with a free 15-minute consultation, either in-person or over the phone, to understand your unique situation. Upon determining our ability to provide effective representation, we then proceed with payment and immediate case work. Our process encompasses evidence discovery, witness testimony documentation, communication with law enforcement agencies, court representation, and providing you with ongoing case updates. We remain available at all times to address any questions or concerns once you become our client, promising professionalism and personalized service throughout your legal journey.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
After graduating from South Texas College of Law in 1979, I began my legal career as an Assistant State Attorney for the 13th Judicial Circuit of Florida. After two years, I was promoted to the role of Special Prosecutor in the Division of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. This time as a prosecutor gave me invaluable insight into the strategies of my current legal opponents. In 1984, I started my private practice, specializing in criminal defense. Drawing on the knowledge and skills honed as a state prosecutor, I crafted effective defense strategies to advocate for my clients. Over the past 43 years as a criminal defense attorney, I have successfully tried more than 500 criminal cases in court. Having spent my entire career in Tampa, I have comprehensive understanding of the Central Florida court systems. I am privileged to maintain collegial relationships with many of the judges, attorneys, and law enforcement personnel in Tampa Bay and across the state of Florida. With over 400 five-star reviews from my clients, I am confident in my ability to provide you with exceptional legal representation in criminal defense. My substantial experience and professional network make me well-positioned to advocate for you successfully in court.
