FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
There is not much choice in today's computer based digital world but to stay on top of the constant changes. Products are obsoleted within days of installation. The software competition with constant upgrades make it impossible to assume you know it all.Since this studio business is gear based, maintenance is ongoing and knowledge must be refreshed regularly.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was forced into it. As a singer in a vocal quintet, arrangements for vocal harmonies were required. Developing a way to multi-track my vocals in harmony with myself in order to hear how the parts combined as a demo for the group led to a world of recording challenges. Relentless technical obstacles in the early years created a path of experimentation. Through my own determination and some help with some knowledgeable mentors, I learned what I needed to know.
