Introduction
I like to design custom furniture and built-ins, adding a unique look to each home. I work closely with artists to design the perfect piece of art for focal walls. I'll design anything, including choosing the best furniture, fabrics, lighting, etc. My design reflects an intelligence of balance, proportion, and scale.
I like that I'm able to let my thoughts float free, to create something that the client never would have thought of, on their own.
When I can offer a unique and functional, solution to make clients happy, there is nothing better.
I also get a kick when I see new fabrics, furniture, and lighting.
I like to see how I can use them in inventive ways. It stimulates me and I feel very alive!
I like to educate my clients, during the presentation phase, explaining why I chose what they are seeing. Believe it or not, there should be a logical reason for each choice.

Joan designed the interior and managed the furnishing of the main living areas in our new construction Florida home. The major portion of her work had to be done when we were still living 1200 miles away so her strong communications and organizational skills were crucial to the project's success. Her creative approach to modern design and Florida style were invaluable given our lack of previous exposure to either. Joan works hard to keep a project moving forward as efficiently as possible. She gives generously of her time, is attentive to even the smallest details, and demonstrates strong professionalism and accountability for her outcomes. It was a pleasure to work with Joan. We are very grateful to her for creating a space we will thoroughly enjoy for years to come.

I would like to recommend Joan Greenfield of Moderne Interior Design. We chose Joan because of her expertise in modern interior design, her degree and license, her 29 years of experience, her varied body of work, AND, her enthusiasm. My Husband and I found her to be creatively talented, service-oriented, with a friendly, outgoing attitude that she easily maintained, while remaining solution focused. She has great communication, listening and organizational skills, and always kept us informed. She displayed a high degree of integrity, efficiency, and responsibility, giving generously of her time. She was always willing to do more than what was required.She is dedicated to her profession and brought interesting ideas to our home. She made our design process easy, as we weren't able to be in town much.
