Swimming has been a lifelong passion for me. Growing up in Southwest Florida, I was never a stones throw away from a body of water and my family had me start swimming from the time I could walk. After 4 years on my varsity swim team I became a lifeguard and water safety instructor. Nearly 8 years later I’ve done everything in the pool from teaching survival swim to 6 month olds, coaching competitive teams, and even celebrating a 100th birthday in my aqua aerobics class.
My teaching style stresses safety and comfortability, while learning does require you to step out of your comfort zone I can assure you that with me you will never be in a dangerous position. I believe the best way to learn a skill is to understand “the why”, so I take my time explaining the nuances to swimming most people are unaware of or don’t know how to describe.
Beyond being a lifeguard I am also an EMT and Lifeguard Instructor so you will have the safest hands to guide you on your journey. It’s never too late to learn, and it’s never too early to create positive associations with the water. I hope that I can be the one to help you reach your goals and have fun doing it!
